Choosing the right crypto exchange is one of the most important decisions for any investor. Fees, security, and available features vary significantly — and the wrong choice can cost you hundreds of dollars over a year. We compare 28 listings and separate active offers from restricted, professional-only, closed, coming-soon, and beta entries. No exchange paid for its editorial rating. Our methodology is fully transparent.

When it comes to fees, the audited shared EU entry tiers vary materially: the public standard spot taker rate is 0.10% at OKX Europe and Gate Europe, while Kraken starts at 0.80%. A $10,000 taker order therefore represents an orderbook-fee estimate of $10 versus $80. Spread, slippage, deposits, withdrawals and account-specific discounts are excluded. Our Fee Calculator applies the same limitation.

Security is the second-most critical factor after the collapses of FTX and Celsius. Exchange-owned pages confirm active MiCA offers for Bybit Europe, Crypto.com, Kraken, Gate Europe, Bitpanda, OKX Europe, Bitstamp, Coinbase EU, Bitvavo and Bit2Me. KuCoin reported restricted onboarding, Bullish is professional-only, Gemini Europe is closed and WhiteBIT EU has not launched. Backpack EU uses a Cyprus MiFID entity for derivatives and an Australian entity for spot/custody rather than a MiCA spot entity. More details are in our security guide.
